Ok, I physical in Brazil. I bought a Freshwater aquarium for my young doughter and this "Absolute Book of Freshwater Aquarium..."
This book is a "semi-complete" testimonial guide. On of the most common fish in Brasilian aquarius is the Kinguio or Goldfish(Carassius auratus) [...] .
I have searched every verso, every word on index about my "Carassius auratus" with truly no success.
I have other five species in the aquarium, and they are all in the book, with a compreensive facts.

Precarious chemistry
First decree on Page 31: "Carbon dioxide is the end produce of photosynthesis."
The above statement is WRONG; it points 180 degrees away from actuality. Of course, photosynthesis consumes carbon dioxide, photosynthesis does not develop carbon dioxide. This is a glaring mistake that should have been swept away of the first revise - well before publication.
A related discussion of Carbonate Hardness (call 30) has some very fuzzy chemistry. Not wrong, but not crystalline, not complete, not precise ... and not easy to supersede. Since carbonate buffering can be a big deal in any aquarium, a much better argument of this topic is needed.

Noble book...
...for beginners and advanced alike. This regulations offers basic information on a wide genus of plant and fish species. Even has a small group about mormyrids which are rarely talked about in other books. The photographs are gorgeous and very detailed.
Previous poster may do well to actually take a look at the regulations instead of getting caught up in wording of other reviews.
Favourably recommend this book to anyone interested in freshwater aquariums.

I like them cut-price and easy...
Based on my little experience with this kit I see no reason to spend the additional well-to-do for test strips instead of a liquid based kit. The color based readings are serene to decipher and clean up is very easy. The kit covers all associated water chemistry and allows for something like 100 tests for the same value as a 15 use ammonia test strip kit.

Matchless test kit, essential if you have aquariums, easy directions.
This kit is wonderful and very precise. It also saves a lot of money than doing the strip tests and gives you more scrupulous measurements. I've found it very easy to use, fast to use, and it's helped me keep my aquariums in top ready. The only negative I can see is that it should have included one more vial since you do end up doing all the tests on the aquarium and that way you can have them all at once. It would also be courteous to be able to purchase replacement vials since they do chance (glass). Otherwise the cards are great for comparing colors, the booklet goes into detail that will steal a new aquarium lover to keep their system in top form.

For all time, all the basic tests in one!
After looking all over, this is one of the few Crackerjack Test Kits I could find that had tests for all the important copiously conditions I need to check in my aquarium. It's also far and away the most talented priced. The instructions were clear and made the kit easy to use. I can fill all 4 vials and do all the tests at once. I like the packaging too, it makes it honest to keep all those little bottles organized. A great yield!

Vast test kit
I wanted something measure sophisticated, yet simple to use. This is a great test kit. Includes tests for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH and exhilarated PH (I'm glad they included the high PH, because mine always runs around 8 to 8.2). The results are undemanding to compare to the color coded cards. Takes the guesswork out of cycling the aquarium.

Skilful Product/Great Price
I recently started up a freshwater tank and am lore the ropes as I go. I was doing some research on what to expect and what supplies I needed. I came across this artifact in a search and after reading other product reviews I incontrovertible to splurge and get this test kit. I think out of all the ones I reveiwed this is the only one that had all the 4 important tests in one case with ease of use that even a child can do (with supervision).
I do have an added tip for all you PetSmart/PetCo shopppers. Writing out this page and take it in and they will price match. The PetSmart (instore) cost is $29.99 and after showing them the ad I saved over $13, and I didn't even have to pay for shipping! :) Clever DEAL!!!
